Our Team

Our team is carefully selected to include teachers and staff from a wide range of top UK boarding schools. With staff coming from Cheam, Sunningdale, Papplewick, Harrow, Summer Fields, Cheltenham College and Haileybury to name just a few. These staff members are current teachers and pastoral experts from a selection of top names in the British boarding school world. With a wealth of experience of supporting and educating young people, just like your children.

Jim Hewer

Jim spent 13 years working at Papplewick School, Ascot where he was Senior Master and Director of Sport.
Jim has also been running summer camps since 2013 and has a deep understanding of how to set up and deliver an exceptional summer camp experience.

Since leaving Papplewick Jim has founded and runs a well known and well respected Educational Consultancy agency called Heritage Education – www.heritage-edu.co.uk

In his free time Jim loves nothing more than herding his dogs into the car and driving down to the golf club to unwind over 18 holes of golf at the Berkshire GC.

Tom Dawson

Tom has been Headmaster of Sunningdale for 18 years, prior to that he taught at Harrow School. He has a wealth of experience of educating pupils from different parts of the world and outstanding links with the top public schools in the country.

Outside of school, Tom enjoys playing golf and fives, watching sport and reading historical novels.

Tom Chapman

Tom brings 17 years of experience in leadership positions in prep school education. Head of Boarding at Cheam School for over eight years, he was previously Head of Geography and Head of Cricket at Caldicott Prep School.
Tom has an in-depth knowledge of pastoral, boarding and sporting leadership which he will bring to Heritage Summer Camps.

Tom is passionate about character education and getting the very best out of each individual child.
Away from school, Tom spends time with his family, enjoys travelling and supports Arsenal Football Club.

Our Teaching Staff

Cameron Braans

Cameron has experience of working in three leading boarding schools in the UK, both at prep and senior level. He spent two years at Cheam Prep School teaching Maths and English before moving into the Senior School Sector. After two successful years at Oakham School, where he specialised in English, he is continuing his English teaching career at Haileybury College in Hertfordshire. Cameron is passionate about education, particularly within the boarding school environment and he recognises the unique opportunities that British boarding schools in particular offer.

Belinda Millar

Belinda graduated with distinction from Rhodes University in 2013 and begun what has been a very colourful career in education. She started teaching at Cheam School specialising in Geography, Mathematics and English. In 2023 Belinda started at Summer Fields, Oxford where she heads up Year 4 and lives in one of the boarding lodges. She has been influential in revamping the Year 4 English syllabus to include pre-test skills and she specialises in developing the linguistic skills of EAL pupils. She is a very sporty and spends her time coaching hockey and playing golf.

Susan Turnbull

Susan has been at Sunningdale for the last ten years. Before joining the team at Sunningdale, she was at Malvern St. James girls’ school. Susan understands better than anyone how to ensure that the boarders in her care are happy and fulfilled and making the most of their time at school. 

Before working in schools, Susan was a GB rower, competing in the Commonwealth Games. She loves travelling and has a whippet called Luna.

Bella Boyd

Bella has been working at Sunningdale for the last nine years, having previously worked on children’s holiday camps. She looks after the pupils in the boarding house, she is a Head of House and also helps direct the annual school musical. Bella has a dog called Wellie, who has his own instagram account!
